Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

Pre-Shipment Inspection is performed when production is complete and the majority of goods are packed for shipment (typically 80% or more). The inspection verifies that products comply with the purchase order, approved specifications, applicable standards, and customer requirements prior to dispatch.

This final check protects buyers from receiving defective products, incorrect quantities, or non-conforming goods before they leave the exporter's facility.

Scope of Inspection

  • Quantity verification: Checking carton counts and total pieces against the packing list.
  • Visual inspection: Evaluating overall product finish, aesthetic quality, and conformity.
  • Workmanship assessment: Ensuring goods match sample benchmarks and order descriptions.
  • Functional verification: Performing operational checks and functional safety tests.
  • Dimensional checks: Measuring products to ensure they meet required size tolerances.
  • Packaging inspection: Checking outer and inner packaging integrity and drop resilience.
  • Labeling and shipping mark verification: Verifying barcodes, weights, country of origin, and destination markings.
  • AQL random sampling: Conducting inspections in accordance with internationally recognized AQL standards.
